POLi Payments has been implemented by two providers who offer products and services to the parents of school children. POLi’s easy integration options, low rates and simple payment workflow have been a hit, particularly in a market where a percentage of parents in every school will not have a credit card or may not be willing to pay with their credit cards.
2Kool4Skool2Kool4Skool is an exciting website stocking a wide and funky range of school book covers and everyday school essentials and the coolest stationery & accessories.
Katherine Brooker, 2Kool4Skool MD says“I first came across POLi when I was paying for a large manufacturing run in China via an international funds transfer on OzForex. After seeing firsthand how easy it was to use POLi for a large sum I knew it would be a wonderful addition to my online store for my customers’ purchases.
I had been concerned that by only offering credit card payment on my online store I may have been losing sales if my customers did not have a credit card or didn’t like using their card for online shopping. I did have the ability to offer PayPal, but the fees had stopped me giving this payment option unless it was specifically requested by a customer.”
Easy plug in for Magento eCommerce software“Once I found out about POLi, I jumped at the chance to incorporate it into my site. My web designer quickly implemented POLi via a simple “plug in” to Magento.”
Affordable fees“January was the busiest sales month of our year for back to school. 75% of my annual trade is done within one month so the merchant fees I pay on credit card transactions are astronomical. POLi provides an economical alternative and I will be recommending POLi Payments to my customers to save on bank fees.
I love the fact that my POLi payments are quickly credited to my bank account and I don’t have to wait days for the bank to release funds into my account.”
No need for credit cards or time consuming registration“Although the vast majority of my customers are comfortable with the online shopping experience and feel their personal details are secure there is still a percentage who do not trust internet security and will not use a credit card for payment. In the past these customers would be lost to me or the lengthy process of manually entering sales and waiting for funds to be electronically transferred made for a time consuming process during our craziest work period. POLi allows these customers to feel safe as the POLi payment process allows them to log into their bank online as they do with any EFT transaction and complete the online sale quickly and safely.
"There is now a clear alternative for paying for online transactions which is simple and safe. The POLi payment gateway is a huge benefit to my online business."Kathy Brooker, Managing Director, 2kool4skool.
LearningField is a new initiative from the Copyright Agency supported by Australia’s leading educational publishers.
The website and application provide an industry solution for the distribution of digital textbooks to secondary school students. LearningField provides a resource-rich digital platform which allows teachers to select the best material to support the differing needs of Years 7–10 students across all subject areas.
Torsten Lachmann, Senior Business Analyst, LearningField says
A payment method for all parents"I was booking flights when I first discovered POLi - I was impressed with how convenient it was and the timing was perfect as we were looking for a payment solution for our online business. We were aware that we wanted to offer a payment method that would be suitable for all parents, across both public and private schools, and we were aware that there would be a percentage of parents who either didn't have a credit card, or who wouldn't be comfortable to use their cards online with us."
Getting set up"I made an initial inquiry with POLi and was quickly on my way to being able to offer internet banking payments. Any queries I had were responded to quickly and the implementation and testing period was quick and easy.”
POLi readily adopted"Our business launched in time for term 1 2014 and I'm pleased to report that parents have readily adopted POLi as an alternative to credit cards. We are really delighted overall with the way that POLi has worked for our business, being low cost for us and simple to use for our customers."

POLi releases Donation App for Facebook
POLi Payments' latest app offers a solution for charities and not for profit companies to accept payments directly through their Facebook fan page.
The simplicity of the app enables Facebook fans to donate quickly by selecting POLi and then completing a payment entirely within Facebook using the convenience of their internet banking.
Minimal transaction fees
And the kicker? The app is free to download and for the first 3 months, there are NO transaction fees. After the free period, transactions will be charged at just $0.30 – that’s a rate of just 0.3% on a $100 donation.
Fast, easy & secure
With so many demands for attention on Facebook, having a payment method that is fast, secure and easy is paramount.
Giving something back
“It is a privilege to be able to offer a really effective solution for charities to smooth their path to accepting donations. Our aim with the Donation App is to increase the likelihood of a Facebook fan making a donation without leaving the security of Facebook – getting fans to head over to the website in order to make a donation is a challenge for all charities. The instant nature of the Donation App will hopefully enable a noticeable increase in donations, particularly for those charities with a large number of Facebook likes”. Says Jeffery McAlister, CEO of POLi Payments

request money from friends. The friends can then pay through the familiar POLi process completely
embedded within Facebook. Both the payer and recipient receive a notification when payment is
made ensuring there are no disagreements or foggy memories.
Unlike other peer to peer products on the market this is the first that is completely bank independent, allows users to request money and facilitates payments from internet banking rather than credit cards.
Best of all this is another free consumer service from POLi.
This is the first in a series of Facebook Apps to be released by POLi, we are currently working hard on a solution that will allow charities to efficiently collect donations via their Facebook pages.
How it Works - Requesting funds from friends
Who should use it?
Pay anyone online with POLi is perfect for easy funds transfer between friends, no need to write down BSB numbers and complete all the details yourself – POLi does it all for you securely and easily.

“CanTeen supports young people along every step of their cancer journey by providing specialist services to help them cope with the physical, emotional and social impact of living with cancer. Young people at CanTeen wear their bandannas with pride and attitude to show they’re fighting cancer together. They want Australians everywhere to join them so please buy, wear and share a virtual CanTeen bandanna this October to show you support their fight and that you’ve got attitude too,” Mr Orchard said.
Traditional bandannas will still be on sale throughout October and especially on National Bandanna Day itself on Friday 18 October. Visit www.bandannaday.com.au for locations.

POLi is pleased to announce that it will be performing real time fraud detection on transactions from today.
“We were extremely pleased to be going live with ThreatMetrix™ today, when fully operational we believe that transactions through POLi when verified by ThreatMetrix™ will actually be more secure than transactions performed directly with the underlying bank. POLi is pleased to announce that no significant vulnerabilities were found.
"We were extremely pleased with the testing organised by bugcrowd. Without bugcrowd there is no way we or 'traditional' security consultancies could have arranged 335 hackers to take part in such an organised process. Our significant investment in security has been vindicated by the positive results achieved and we look forward to engaging Bugcrowd in the future." said Jeff McAlister, CEO of POLi Payments.

All web and mobile apps have security flaws. Finding them before the bad guys do is hard. The bad guys have the economic advantage and way outnumber the good guys. Crowdsourced “bug bounties” bring balance to the equation... but in-house bug bounty programs are hard to set up and difficult to run. Enter Bugcrowd.
Our curated crowd of 1,500 security researchers compete for cash and kudos to be the first to report security flaws in our clients’ applications. Facebook, Google and Paypal have used this approach successfully for years, now Bugcrowd makes it available to companies of all sizes.
